Saturday, February 25th, 2012 | The entire Palmetto Art Center facility is being dedicated to the best possible presentation of Romeike-Wisniewski’s bold abstract paintings. The pieces to be shown have been selected by PAC director Gretchen LeClezio and the artist, to represent her work from various eras, including her time in Germany, in Austin, Texas, and on Anna Maria Island. Very large works on unstretched canvas will be hung, as well as more recent geometrical abstract acrylic paintings on paper, most of them unframed. The pieces are so strong that the frame is not missed.

Sunday, December 11th, 2011 | The Anna Maria Island Art League held its twenty-fourth Winterfest Festival of Fine Arts and Fine Crafts on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, 2011, at City Hall Park in Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island. The quality of this show had been raised to very high levels in recent years by Art League director Joyce Karp, who stepped down this year. Still, many of the same excellent artists from all around the country were glad to return.

Friday, January 14th, 2011 | Abstract suggestions of unspoiled shorelines and marine wildlife are inspired by the beauty of the Gulf. There is keen awareness of the tragedy that occurred in other parts of the Gulf, and of the chance that this area, too, could be affected by future oil spills. For now, celebrating the beauty of the marine environment through these paintings seems like an uplifting and optimistic way to start the new year.

Thursday, November 4th, 2010 | The 4th annual ArtsHOP Tour 2010 of art and theater on Anna Maria Island is being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 12 –14. The ArtsHOP event features a festival of local artists on a tour of locations presenting artworks and productions.

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010 | Bayfest returns for 2010 in Anna Maria. The always popular event will be held October 15th, 5pm to 10pm and 16th, 10am to 10pm at Pine Ave in Anna Maria City, at the north end of Anna Maria Island.
