Anna Maria Island Privateers Thieves Markets

The Anna Maria Island Privateers will hold several Thieves Markets at Coquina Beach this winter.

Scheduled dates are Saturdays Jan 12, Feb 9, Mar 8, Apr 12, from 8am - 3pm.

The Privateers organization is seeking vendors to sell arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, and other concessions to raise money for local community programs.

    That’s a pretty clever way to raise money. Do they go all out with pirate clothing and what not?

    Yes. The Privateers are local civic leaders who raise money for scholarships and good causes. They dress for events in pirate costumes and they have a pirate ship float they use for a parade, blood drive, fund raising or other event. Their smoked mullet is the best around.
    Plus they seem to have a rousing good time doing it. . aaaargh!
